Volunteer Opportunities Descriptions

CAPA Cup Tournament

    • Our largest event
    • Volunteers on the tournament days and months leading up to the event
    • Will be held in August 2024; location TBD

      • Commissioner

Organized Play

    • Organize and run weekly round robin at a court near you
    • Organize and run league(s) at a court near you
    • Serve by running programs, lessons, events

Assisting with Skills and Drills Events

    • Help certified instructors on the courts
    • Instructors – offer free sessions to beginner players
    • Work with Park & Rec departments to schedule court time for events

Social Events “Fun

    • Dedicated to creating fun events with our CAPA members
    • Organize events throughout the region to commemorate various occasions/holidays
    • Foster community connections
    • Support charitable causes
    • Plan and prepare the Annual Meeting
      • Set-up and Clean-up
      • Work with vendors to plan menu within budget
      • Organize food distribution the day of the event
      • Door prizes

Communications

    • Assist with publishing quarterly newsletters
    • Create news releases to area publications regarding CAPA activities and programs
    • Online Blog on CAPA website
    • Soliciting photos from members or taking photos at events
    • Assist Player Development Instructors
    • Create and monitor Signup Genius for events
    • Send link for signup to designated person to email to members
    • Follow up with participants after the event

Support Area Representatives

    • Assist area reps to develop Pickleball Advisory Committees for area courts
      • Work with Park & Rec or governing body to establish programming for the courts such as open play times, etiquette expectations, events such as “Pickles and Beer”
      • Develop meaningful relationships with core players at the court
      • Get involved with local clubs (FOOP, MOHOP, etc.)
    • Assist the area representatives with miscellaneous needs relevant to the associated courts

Wherever I am needed

    • Work with local towns to find additional places to play indoors during inclement weather and/or winter months
    • Volunteer committee – orientation, meeting and mentoring new volunteers
    • Nomination Committee – for open board positions during an election
    • Technical Support
    • Perhaps you have an idea that is not on this list
